Leaf Pickup / Tree Limb Removal

Leaf Pick-up Guidelines

  • Please keep all leaves must be within 5 feet of the edge of the road, if they extend more than 5 feet we will get the first 5 feet, then you must rake the rest to the edge of the road. Please also keep in mind that we run the leaf collection in a route, therefore we will get to you when we reach you in the route. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Please remember the following requests when disposing of your raked leaves:
  • Have leaves in tight piles on the edge of the street by Monday Morning.  Place at curbside not earlier than the night before for a Monday pickup.
  • Remember that the leaf vac machine can only reach leaves right on the edge of the roadway.
  • Don't mix limbs, twigs and loose leaves together.  We use two different pieces of equipment to remove each, and each is accomplished on different days of the week.
  • Don't place anything in your leaf pile that could damage the leaf vacuum machine.
  • If you miss leaf removal, then bag the leaves for removal later in the season as we will continue to pick up bagged leaves after March 1, 2020.

Your Public Works department appreciates your help with these tasks.
Many of us are your neighbors too!

Limbs & Trimmings Removal

  • All tree trimming limbs left at curb for grinding should be laid with all large (butt) ends toward the street to facilitate  efficient feeding into the grinding equipment. The limbs can be no larger that 4" in diameter. It is important remove any nails or metal objects that may damage the grinding equipment.
  • Please don't mix loose leaves and limbs together as their removals are two separate operations.
  • Grass cuttings, hedge clippings, tree trimmings and similar materials less than 4 inches in diameter and 60 inches in length will be collected by the town on the regularly scheduled, weekly special collection day if placed in containers or located at the point of pick-up with trunks or limbs facing toward the street. Tree limbs may be placed in piles no larger than 20 feet in road frontage width, 4 feet in height and 60 inches in length.
