Get Water, Sewer and Trash Services

Opening a New Utility Account the following is needed:

  • Water/Sewer Service Application (website or Utility/Finance office)
  • Proof of ownership (when purchasing) or Lease agreement (when renting)
  • Government issued photo identification
    Social Security number
  • Payment of deposit $65 in town, or $130 out of town; only (cash or money order) 
  • For same day service application must be completed by 2:30 pm. 

Important Dates for New Account:

  • Billing is 20th of the month
  • Bills are due on 15th of following month
  • $7.00 late fee assessed on the 16th
  • Non-Payment penalty of $45.00 assessed on the 6th, and service disconnected
  • Example:
    • Nov 2023 Billing on 20th
    • Dec 15th 2023 Due Date
    • Dec 16th, 2023 Late Fee
    • Jan 6th, 2024 Non Payment Penalty Fee and Disconnected. 

Utility Billing Includes:

Water             Sewer              Trash Service (maximum 3 cans)

Trash Pickup: 

EVERY TUESDAY; On Monday roll your can to the edge of the road.  Remove your can from the road by Tuesday afternoon. If the trash can gets damaged call: (336)-622-4276 to have it replaced.

Payments: 

  • You may make payments at the Utility & Finance Dept at 126 S. Fayetteville St.
  • Place payment in white drop box at Town Hall using circle drive at 239 S. Fayetteville St. 
  • Pay online by accessing the Town’s website: www.liberty-nc.com  
  • Pay by phone (844) 971-2022  (your account number and last name will be needed to make payments online or by phone).  

Rates: 

  • A list of rates can be found on the Town’s website. Click on the Title bar “Doing Business”, then on the left hand side you will see “Liberty’s Fee Schedule”. 

Disconnection/Closing of Utility Account

  • Please fill out the Disconnection form located on Town’s website.
  • You may submit this to the Utility & Finance Office or email it to:  www.liberty-nc.com
